Sarreid endeavors to partner with the best artisans, craftsmen and designers globally. Thad Bergelin has been a consultative part of the Sarreid team for many years. Of late, we have deepened our collaborative partnership and the results are evident. A greater percentage of our products are 100% exclusive design from shape, to finish and finally hardware. The partnership is strong and will only become stronger as Sarreid moves closer towards the goal of becoming a whole home resource.
How does your design process work with Sarreid?
The design process with Brad, and the Sarreid team has always started with looking at pictures from my travels to antique shops. We travel to Europe a few times a year to shop for antiques, and view new trends. It allows the brainstorming process to begin with Brad, Karen and I.

What has it been like to work with the Sarreid Team?
We are going on 15 years now that we have worked with Sarreid. I have enjoyed every minute of it! They are a great group of friends!
What defines a good design in your opinion?
Great Design? Things that sell… Ha Ha! In all seriousness, I would say that scale, and well-proportioned items make successful designs. Other important details are the appropriate finishes and hardware.

Where do you find the passion for great furniture design?
The passion for great design has always come from my design trips. I have been very lucky to work with my Father, Chris Bergelin, as he taught me to invest in our travels! Now my wife, Amy, and I are taking our daughters to Europe! Not sure about the 5th generation yet? Keep you posted…
What is your favorite Sarreid Item?
Picking one is tough but I will have to go with the Mistral Wall Mirror. My wife, Amy, and I have spent the last 2 years doing a full renovation on a house in Linville, NC. We scaled a wall just for this Brass Mirror. It is also a special piece because it was inspired by an item my father and I saw on my first trip to Europe with him. I will always remember that small shop in the South of France!
