Mid Century Meets Coastal Cottage

Summer is coming to end soon and so we wanted to explore one last coastal trend before moving on to the golden season of Fall. We talk a lot here on the East coast about the traditional coastal cottage look and even the “coastal grandmother” trend. So when our Halle Commode was featured in the most recent issue of LUXE Magazine’s Hamptons Issue, we knew it was time to focus on a more modernized look. It’s the juxtaposition of rustic coastal cottage and mid century modern pieces in combination with stand out artwork that create such a youthful and eclectic vibe.

Even the most traditional cottage exteriors can have modernized interiors, as you can see below in the same LUXE Magazine Hamptons Issue. A Bridgehampton Cottage that designer, Augusta Hoffman, brought to life with an interesting mix of antiques, modern silhouettes and color, all while keeping the rustic cottage feel. Also, a Southhampton classic shingled exterior is combined with a sophisticated yet approachable interior, designed by Monica Fried.
