In September 2019, Brenda Ramirez was hired almost exclusively to take product photography, a position that seemed pretty straight forward. New products come in, she shoots them, edits them and they are ready for the website, right? I’ll give you a hint… Wrong!
When Brad joined the team, he started asking Brenda about some of her other skills and how those could be used at Sarreid. She shared with him her experience as a member of her church’s creative and production teams. With that in the back of Brad’s mind and the pandemic fast approaching it was time to expand her role.
The need for excellent hi-res photography and video was crucial during a time where customers couldn’t see the product in person. The first step was to expand and upgrade our photo studio and equipment. Brenda jumped right in to help improve our video communications through Zoom and by creating individual product videos. With our new upgraded equipment, she photographed and videoed every single product in the Sarreid line up.

This constant call for better and better images to take the guess work out of the customer’s hands changed Brenda’s perspective some. “I have learned to view furniture in a more artistic way. My goal is to capture the quality and craftsmanship of each piece in our photography. We’re always looking for new ways to do this as a team.” It does take a team after all, and Brenda is no doubt a team player.

There is a quote by John Keynes that says, ”The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from old ones.” This concept seems to come easy for Brenda in work and life. Outside of work, Brenda’s family, friends and church are very important to her. She has become very passionate about being intentional with her time and living a healthy lifestyle to serve them better. “I began the journey to being a minimalist over a year ago and it has helped me spend more time enjoying activities and learning new skills.” Some of those activities include cooking, growing plants, hosting friends and most recently, learning to play the drums!
When asked what she loves about working at Sarreid her response was, “We have a great team. It truly does feel like a family here.”
