July is a month that means so much to so many….and in so many different ways. It’s a beach month, a holiday, school’s out, a time to honor our country and those who served, or an opportunity to take the pace of life down just a bit.
In my house, it’s all of the above and more. My wife’s birthday (Jodi) is July 4th. I honestly think our daughters were ten before they understood that fireworks were not just in celebration of Mom’s birthday. Such great memories of sitting on the beach watching the fireworks go off overhead with my entire family soaking in the experience.
However, as great as the memories are, July is also a time for heavy thought and action to drive business. After thirty-plus years in the industry, invariably leadership begins to panic in late June through Labor Day. I’m certainly no different.
