Hurlbutt Designs is southern Maine’s leading design resource center and a long-time partner of Sarreid’s. It is always a pleasure working with Louise Hurlbutt and seeing her visions come to life.

In the latest issue of Decor Maine Magazine, you will find out how Maine designers Don Purdy and Louise Hurlbutt used their combined creativity and tradition to maximize the style and space in an 1800-square-foot Cape Porpoise Home.
This home sits right on the water and so the view played greatly into how they designed the home. The water view was a key ingredient in spaces like the dining area, along with ample windows and a Sarreid Ltd Jupe Dining Table. “You can sit at that dining table and watch all of the activity of the working harbor for lobstermen,” says Louise. “The owners sit there at sunset and take it all in.”

The beautiful thing about Sarreid Jupe Tables is its ability to expand when entertaining. The self-storing leaves can be folded back up to save space every day. The Giselle Jupe Table is a transitional style with a hint of tradition in the herringbone marquetry on the top. The base is an appealing combination of curves and facets. We love the Heather Grey Finish in this setting.

Moving over to the living area, “a fireplace anchors the living room, alongside a tufted leather wing chair by Sarreid which was chosen by Hurlbutt Designs.” The navy blue leather makes our Welsh Chair even more timeless and the perfect occasional chair in coastal designs.
Our Jupe Tables and Welsh chair can be seen in some of Hurlbutt’s other designs, as seen below.
