TREND: Reimagining & Repurposing

The best kept secret at Sarreid is that many of our products are contract grade. Though we’ve long assisted designers in furnishing country clubs and common areas in public spaces, most customers don’t realize we’re fully capable of supplying all the case goods, upholstery and accents necessary to complete entire turnkey hospitality projects…beautifully. Recently, we have noticed a trend of refurbishing old buildings and repurposing spaces for both hospitality and private projects. Since Sarreid is known for a unique blend of old world tradition and today’s designs, it makes perfect sense that we would fit right in.

Case in point:

The Lincoln Hotel, a boutique hotel in Biddeford, Maine, set in a luxuriously reimagined mill that has defined the community since the 1850s. Krista Stokes, creative director for Atlantic Holdings, partnered with long time Sarreid partner, Hurlbutt Designs, to create and furnish the hotel’s spaces. We are beyond proud that Sarreid was able to help furnish this elegant design.

Leo Dowell of Charlotte, NC based Leo Dowell Designs was challenged to restore a Caboose. In the words of Dowell, “Once upon a time there was a little red caboose and it traveled all over the southwest. Years later after it was decommissioned it was purchased to go on a private estate. Now it has been restored to its days of glory.” We have been watching the progression of this project through Dowell’s Instagram Posts and it is quite remarkable. The attention to detail will not go unnoticed…from the Leather paneled ceilings to the perfectly curated mix of vintage and new pieces. We all want to come aboard!

Dowell chose to use multiple Disel Singles Chairs in his Red Caboose Project.
