A special message from Sarreid CEO, Brad Cates
As we turn the page to June, I’m reminded how important it is—now more than ever—to pause, reflect, and recharge. At Sarreid Ltd., we are fortunate to work with an extraordinary community of interior designers, each of whom carries the immense responsibility of bringing someone else’s vision to life. You are the dream translators, the style interpreters, and the problem-solvers who turn a space into a sanctuary. And let’s be honest—your work is as emotionally demanding as it is visually stunning.
This mid-year moment feels like the perfect time to recognize the creative and logistical juggling act you perform daily. You listen intently, plan strategically, source endlessly, and still manage to deliver beauty that stirs emotion. It’s no small feat, and it doesn’t happen without effort, energy, and care.
But here’s the truth: even the most talented among us can’t create brilliance on an empty tank. We often get swept away in timelines, approvals, client asks, and product hunts—rarely stopping to reconnect with the quiet voice that first drew us into this world of design.
For me, that reconnection happens in my painting studio. (I say “painter” because “artist” sounds a bit too lofty.) At this time of year, I find myself surrounded by large, half-finished canvases in various stages of chaos or clarity. No formal process. No strategic plan. Just me, a brush, my dog at my feet, and the slow unfolding of something honest and occasionally, commercially successful. That space—both physical and mental—is where I recharge. It grounds me. It centers me. It reminds me that creativity is never far away, but it does need space to breathe.
What is your version of that space? Where do you go to reset, not just rest? What feeds your inner artist, your inner strategist, your inner guide?
If you haven’t found it—or haven’t made time for it—I strongly urge you to do so. Carve it out. Protect it. Embrace it. Because your clients don’t just hire you for taste—they lean on your clarity, your energy, your vision. As good as you are, you are never as good as when you’re fully recharged and aligned, in mind, body, and spirit.
2025 has already delivered its share of challenges. The second half will likely bring more—some we expect, some we don’t. Take this moment to catch your breath. Refocus. Recharge. So when the next challenge comes, you meet it as the beacon of creativity your clients know you to be.
Here’s to a powerful second half of the year—fueled by rest, reflection, and inspiration.
