Team Spotlight: Meet Our Technology Leaders, Nathan Godwin and Matt Eatmon

At Sarreid, we pride ourselves not only on our exceptional products but also on the incredible team that makes everything happen behind the scenes. This month, we’re shining a spotlight on the dynamic duo who head up our technology department—Nathan Godwin and Matt Eatmon. These two are the backbone of our information systems, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Let’s get to know them a bit better.

Nathan Godwin: Director – Information Systems

When did you start at Sarreid, and what were you hired to do?
I began my journey with Sarreid in January 2017.

What is your current title, and how have your responsibilities changed since starting?
Today, I serve as the Director of Information Systems. When I started I was in the role of IT Specialist, reporting to then IT Director Larry Sandwick who later went on to become VP of Information Technology before retiring. My responsibilities changed from much more frequent troubleshooting of network, hardware, and software issues to back end maintenance and development for LOB applications, the company website, and other systems, as well as administrative functions that keep Sarreid’s information flowing.

Outside of work, how do you like to spend your free time?
In my downtime, I enjoy relaxing with Netflix and spending quality time with my family.

What do you like about working at Sarreid?
The company culture, the welcoming staff, the longevity and respect of the brand, and most importantly the products. Far too often one is asked to promote a product or service that simply isn’t of the quality or value represented (some telecom providers come to mind); Sarreid is an exception. Sarreid’s products can be promoted with pride and assurance that if something is not satisfactory, Sarreid will make it right which puts the company in the top echelon of businesses in general.

Matt Eatmon: Junior Network Administrator/IT Specialist

When did you start at Sarreid, and what were you hired to do?
I started in late September almost three years ago, right before 2021 October Market.  Larry and Nathan wanted to push me into the deep end on my first week by exposing me to Market!  I was hired as a Junior Network Administrator/IT Specialist.

What is your current title, and how have your responsibilities changed since starting?
My current title is Junior Network Administrator/IT Specialist. My responsibilities are growing more and more each day especially since our fearless leader has retired.

What recent project are you most proud of, and why?
Lately, we have launched a new chat feature on our website and we have been building a knowledge base in order for our bot, Alex, to start answering basic and common questions.  Alex, is handling/answering more and more questions accurately and effectively since launch. He can provide inventory, contact information to local store fronts that display Sarreid products, contact information for our Sales Representatives if an inquiring vendor needs to reach out.  In all, I have been amazed and excited in building our new chat feature.  Every day I have been amazed at what he has been able to answer after hours or overflow from our amazing Customer Service Department.

Outside of work, how do you like to spend your free time?
I spend my free time taking care of my Father and spending time with my dogs.  I love to play guitar and listen to whom I consider to the be the best musician, Tom Petty. Chris and Nathan can attest that my truck is always tuned to Tom Petty Radio on Sirius XM.

What do you like about working at Sarreid?
Everything, I absolutely love working at Sarreid.  I couldn’t ask for a better “Work Family” than what we have here.

Nathan and Matt are integral to Sarreid’s success, not just because of their technical skills but because of their dedication and passion for what they do. We’re lucky to have them on our team, and we look forward to seeing what they’ll accomplish next!
