We may be biased, but our sales representatives are pretty awesome. They share a wealth of industry knowledge that is only gained by years of experience. This is a loyal and close-knit team of professionals who want to see each other succeed and are quick to help one another. When our Illinois/Wisconsin territory opened up two years ago, we were thrilled to find someone with vast industry knowledge that came from a different perspective.
Stan Terry hasn’t always been a Sales Representative. He actually owned/operated two different companies in the home furnishings industry. The last company that he lead was sold to a private equity firm, who he says “immediately began to systematically dismantle everything that had created the value that they purchased.” Frustratingly, he decided he had to make a move, so he left the world of owner/operator that had consumed the previous 35 years of his career and started a business with his wife of 38 years, Ruth. Stan says, “Of all of the industries in which I have worked (I’ve run nine companies in a multitude of industries over the course of my career), I enjoyed the home furnishing industry the most. It made the most sense for us. And I’ve not regretted it one bit!”
We asked Stan a few questions about Sarreid and life outside work:
Q: What do you appreciate about Sarreid and what sets it apart from other companies?
A: “The Sarreid Team is my Team. They stand beside me. They support me. They are reasonable and understanding. No request is dismissed out of hand. Thoughtful and careful consideration is given to each of my asks. It is refreshing.”
Q: What is your favorite/best-selling Sarreid Piece?
A: “I don’t have a single favorite piece. However, I must admit that the Jupe tables just never get old. Every time I introduce them to a new customer I am as amazed by what they are and what they do as the customer!”

Q: Where is home and what do enjoy doing in your free time?
I live in Chicagoland and have for my entire life. My son, his wife, and their son and daughter live very close to us, and I spend as much “Papa Time” as I possibly can. My daughter, her husband, and their three girls live in Los Angeles, which is a bit more challenging for us. But I love those kids and grandkids with my whole heart and my wife does a great job of making sure that too much time doesn’t pass in between quick visits. Other than my family, my passions are playing tennis (I play three to four times a week when I’m not on the road), the Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Bears. Being a Chicago sports fan does an incredible job of keeping me grounded!
