One of our goals over the last few years has been to become your source for the whole home. In order to accomplish this, we had to dive into the only category not represented already by Sarreid; the bedroom. A large amount of time was spent planning and designing the perfect pieces that would be “unmistakably” Sarreid and over the last two years we have successfully introduced five new bed styles along with a large number of night stands and dressers.
There is no better time to spruce up a bedroom than in the new year… because most of us could add “getting more sleep” to our New Year’s resolutions. An inspiring space that lets you feel rested and renewed is what we all deserve. Whether your clients are designing a new home or just freshening up an exisiting bedroom, we have put together some tips for helping create the perfect look.
5 Tips for creating a bedroom your client will never want to leave
We’ve come up with 5 easy tips for sprucing up your master or guest bedroom in style.
- The Bed is the Focal Point

Obviously, the bed is going to be the biggest item in the room so it should make a statement. If you want a calm and clean look, opt for all white bedding, and on the contrary, if eclectic is what you are going for, use some fun colorful fabrics and create your own custom bedding. Whichever you chose, the bed is going to set the tone for the whole room you are decorating.

2. Picking the Perfect Height For Your Nightstands

How big should the nightstands be? There is no universal answer to this question because obviously it depends on the height of the bed and how much space you have to work with. The worst thing to do is make an impulse purchase without measuring (even if the price is right).
Consensus among design experts and furniture makers is that nightstands should be anywhere between 24″ to 36″ with the average falling around 28″. Ideally, the nightstand should be level or nearly level (within 2-3 inches) to the top of your bed mattress. This should allow you to easily reach the lamp or grab a glass of water.

3. Provide Plenty of Storage

Besides the usual chest of drawers there can be room for a cabinet or sideboard to help provide a place for “all the things”. It will elevate the style of the room and feel less cluttered. It is also a great place to anchor the television…. because it’s a lot easier to relax and watch Netflix if you can’t see the mess!

4. Add a Work Space or Vanity

With the ever growing trend of working from home, we have all scrambled to find a quiet spot in the home to handle our emails, zoom calls, and more. For those of you who are tight on space and cannot devote an entire room to the home office, the bedroom can be the perfect place to set up shop… and if you do go back to the office you can always make it a vanity.
Here are a couple of great options:

5. Add a Bench (or 2) to the Foot of the Bed

Add functionality to your room while also giving it a stylish flair. A bench at the end of the bed is the perfect anchor and can be used so many ways. It’s a place to sit and put on your shoes, a place to put your bag down, a place to put towels or extra pillows for guests, a ladder for your pets to climb up in bed if you so choose… the possibilities are endless!
