We just finished up a successful Spring Market in High Point and it was incredibly exciting to open our doors for the first “normal” market in years. Being able to greet a record number of customers face-to-face and see their smiles and reactions to products was so uplifting.
I often times during market will find a spot to “sit and observe”. I observe the customers, the sales representatives and their assistants and the whole team in general. As usual, we unveiled many (130 to be exact) new designs this market and it was interesting to watch the reactions to these never-before-seen pieces. My observations were many, but what seemed to prevail as an overall trend was one category: sideboards.
It should come as no surprise since we introduced 40 new sideboards this season, adding to the over 200 sideboards already in our product line. The sideboard category is an enormously vital part of our business and designers come to us knowing we have an assortment of sizes, styles and finishes to fit their project’s needs. These designers also come to us because they know we will have stock. Our stocking position, especially on sideboards, has remained strong throughout the last year.
My observations, or “sightings from the sideboard”, from this Market were more than just product trends. What I saw was an elegant brand that is focused on the beautiful. From the construction details to marquetry and the custom designed hardware, the Sarreid ethos is taking shape. Right in front of our eyes, Sarreid is evolving for the better. All touchpoints, all people, all processes. All for the better.
